SSHOW  Club minutes Nov. 15th, 2004
Mtg. held at the Prudential Bldg. S.L.C.
Meeting called to order by President Ron Kunz @ 7:15p.m.
Members present:
Ron Kunz, Pres.
Mike Morgan, Vice Pres.

Mike made motion to approve minutes of Oct. mtg. Seconded by Nance
Sect. Rpt.: Nance brought up the dates for the 2005 Utah Horse Expo- - 
March 11th - March 13th, 2005.  She will contact SSHBEA to see if they will, 
once again, pay for the SSHOW booth.  Members will want to consider 
exhibiting their horses  at this event.  More will be discussed at the Jan. mtg.
Ron also brought out that as a club, we may want to assign 2 members to 
oversee the expo booth..set up, take down and see that all slots to man 
our booth will be covered.

A lengthy discussion was held on which performance classes will qualify 
for the respective championship classes.  The following was voted on by the 
members present.  There were no proxys sent in for the voting:
SSH 2 gait  AO&T English
SSH English 2 gait
SSH English (western) 2 gait 17 yrs./ under
All of the above will qualify for the SSH English 2 gait Championship
* please note that the youth class that is also western 17/under will 
require the exhibitor to show back in the championship in engligh 
attire if they showed english in the qualifying class. (i.e. if the exhibitor 
shows english in the qualifying calss, they MUST show in english attire in 
the championship).

SSH 2 gait  AO&T Western
SSH Western 2 gait
SSH  Western (english) 2 gait 17 yrs./ under
All of the above will qualify for the SSH Western 2 gait Championship
* same as above applies for the youth 17/under class.  If the exhibitor 
shows western in the in the qualirying class , they MUST show in  
western attire in the championship.

SSH English/ Western 3 gait
This is the ONLY class that qualifies the horse for the SSH 3 gait 
Championship.
* please note that if the horse is shown english in the qualifying 
class, it must be shown back in the same dicipline  for the championship.  The 
same applies for western attire.  English/ Western attire can not be mixed  
in the show ring.
*please note that the SSH Novice horse or Rider  2 gait IS NOT a 
qualifying class for either championship!!

Janae made the motion for the above additions to be added in the UAB 
premium book for the 2005 show season.  Becca seconded. Voting was unanimous in 
the affirmative.

Treas. Rpt. by Janae:  High Point Awards= $207.83    Ribbons= $87.56   
Fazoli Catering= $532.85
Silent Auction= $482.60   Entertainment=$300.00+ tip ( totally provided 
by 
Leslie Topham & Nance Walker )    Total Income= $1,030.00    Total 
Expenses= $ 828.24   Current Bank Total= $ 1,153.95

Congrats. to both Leslie and Becca for a great job putting it all 
together!!

Trail Ride Nov. 6th rpt. given by Mike:  7 people in attendance.  Great 
weather.  Lots of buffalo close range.  Mike was quick to note that no 
one was arrested for going off the designated trail!!  He also has photos 
to submit to Janae for newsletter.  No trail ride for Dec.

Becca brought up fees for nominating horses for next yr.  Total horses 
nominated in 2004= 12   Total revenue from nom. horses= $100.00  This 
brings a shortfall for yr. end awards.  Motion made by Janae to increase nom. 
fee for 2005 to $15.00 for 1st horse, and $ 10.00 for each subsequent 
nomin. Seconed by Mike. Voting unam. in the affifmative.

Ron brought up election for Board of Directors will be held 1st mtg. in 
Jan.   There will be 4 up for nomination. The Board will then elect the 
officers for the 2005 yr.  You do NOT have to be a member of the Board to be an 
officer.  

The following members terms expire this yr.:  Mike Morgen, Vicki May, 
Nance Walker, Ron Kunz.  Those who will remain on the Board:  Becca 
Pennington, Tom Pearce, Marilyn Sizemore
Ron proposed putting together a " Board of Directors" pamphlet to be 
given to each newly elected board member to have avail. at each mtg.

Becca proposed we have an appetizer pot luck @ the Jan. mtg. Everyone 
bring their favorite dish to sample!!!

Next mtg. MON. JAN. 17th @ 7p.m. Prudential Bldg.
Mike motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Becca.  Mtg. adjourned @ 8:32p.m.
