SSHOW meeting minutes July 16, 2005 held at South Jordan Equestrian Park
in conjunction with Howard Franklin Classic Horse Show

Mtg. called to order @ 10:11 a.m.:  Ron Kunz, Pres.

Secty. rpt.: Nance
Copy of letter passed out that was sent to the judge of Howard Franklin 
along with the info. taken from the SSHBEA Rule Book on judging SSH'S.
Kathy Dorius will be resigning as Secty. of UABHA after this show year.  
Position has already been filled. $72.00 was sent  for the Spring Fling Show
and $80.00 was sent for the Charity Show to SSHBEA as the $2.00/ SSH class.

Mike reported on the June trail ride at Yellow Fork:
27 total participants from both MSTWHBA/SSHOW
75% were SSHOW members!  Dinner provided at the trail head by MSTWHBA.

There will not be a trail ride in July.

Discussion was held re: upcoming Morgan Club Show that included SSH'S. 
(Aug. 5 - 6th)  Shelia will include info. on directions, classes, 
registration fees, etc. in the newsletter.

Trail ride for August will be hosted by Dalene Collins at South Fork.  
Details will be included in newsletter.  RSVP to Dalene will be 
helpful, so we know how many to plan (and WAIT) for!

Alex will take back suggested dates to Leslie and Roy Topham for this 
yrs. High Point Awards Banquet. They have offered to do it again this yr.

Mike again made it clear that the club should do the following for 
potential buyers of SSH'S:
1)  seller to get 1/2 page ad for 6 months including WHO bought the 
horse and the horses name.
2) buyer will get a 1 yr. FREE LIMITED MEMBERSHIP which includes 
e-mailed minutes and monthly newsletter.  It DOES NOT include the t-shirt or 
free inspection.
3) Youth promotion: trainers are encouraged to give 1 free lesson on a 
SSH to an interested youth.
This was well received by members present!

Discussion was held on the new SSHOW banner and red backdrop that was 
put up for the first time this show, courtesy of Nance Walker and Roy and 
Leslie Topham.  This will be at each show from now on to add interest to our 
show photos.  Roy Topham is our SSHOW photographer and will gladly take 
pictures of members with their horses.  You don't have to win a class to get 
your photo taken at the backdrop.

Next meeting: Monday August 15th 7 p.m... annual mtg. and potluck at 
Christianson's home.  Bring swimsuit, towel, and potluck item.
