SSHOW MEETING MINUTES

Annual board of directors meeting held Feb 12, 2007 @ 7:00 pm at Prudential Building, Redwood Road.

Current Board/members of show present/excused.

Nance Walker- President (board member present)

Mike Morgan - Treasurer (board member present)

Dalene Collins- Trail master (board member present)

Sheila Smith - Excused for this meeting

Leslie Topham - Secretary ( board member present)

Meeting called to order at 8:08 pm by Nance Walker

Minutes approved from January meeting. Mike Morgan motioned, Dalene Collins seconded motion to approve.

Dennis Pennington from Mountain States Tennessee Walking Horse Utah club came to submit the information regarding the DQP concerns and funding with differences between the different HIO's with NHSC ( National Show Horse Commission) and THWBEA. Mountain States TWH would like the May show to be under the NHSC HIO. This would also mean that the first show would be affiliated and not sanctioned as it has been in the past. This would also mean that no prize money will be paid to exhibitors. Because of the NHSC's position THIS year, they will no longer pay for the expense of the DQP ( if we are sanctioned). If we sanction, this would mean that both Utah local clubs would bear the expense of this. The affiliation process through the NHSC will provide the DQP and his/hers expenses. IF WE sanction, then we will need to provide the funds divided by both clubs. By going under the TWHBEA HIO, both clubs will be charged a $12.00 per horse per day cap. NOT a $6.00 dollar fee per class per horse.

Nance encouraged both clubs to make a decision that would best benefit both clubs financially. And that each club shares an interest in this vote. IF the NHSC decides that they will pay for all funds throughout the year, the club would like to reconsider due to the expense per class compared to the $12.00 per cap per horse.

Per Dennis Pennington- the Charity Show will have Jenne Jackson from TN as the All Breed Judge. She is proficient in TWH and SSH and is can judge the additional appropriate all breed horses.

As far and the HIO for the Howard Franklin and State Fair, the club has decided to wait until further notice from TN.

Treasurers Report - Mike Morgan

Current total assets $ 1105.24 ( This does not include $250.00 that we will receive back from SSHBEA for the Horse EXPO). These funds should be coming soon as approved by SSHBEA.

New memberships for 2007 - Dean Thorton and Family.

About $50.00 in SSHOW tee-shirts ( we will try to sell them at the Horse Expo)

Additionally, the club has been trying to work on the web site. After Wendy and Vicki got half way through, annual fee was needed. The cost was $169.40, for the year. Motioned to keep the current website provider for this year. Mike Morgan motioned, Leslie Topham Seconded motion.

WEB SITE- Wendy is wording hard with Vicki. Please give them some time to work their magic. Then they will be wanting ad's and pictures for our website. Wendy will post the show dates, trail rides and any pictures that we need. . The web-site has been corrected to:

GORDON HIRSHI- Excused and club will table his report from SSHBEA Annual Award Banquet and status of organization.

JANAE CHRISTIANSEN - Youth club application needed from SSHBEA so Janae can turn them in. Forms can be cut and copied from the SSHBEA website and sent to Janae.

SHEILA SMITH - Sheila was absent this meeting. She will be setting up the booth at the Horse Expo. Sheila has had problems with her computer. She can receive emails but at this time can not sent them. Any Newsletter info, still continue to send to her.

March 17, 2007 Western Wild Horse Trail Ride

Get off at Exit 77 (Dugway) towards Wendover. Off the exit head South. There is an abandoned gas station just on other side of exit. This is where we will meet at 10:00 am. If you have a Dutch Oven recipe, please bring it. Very easy footing. Great ride!

July 21, 2007 - Yellow Fork Canyon

August 18, 2007 - Strawberry Reservoir - Could be a weekend trip (more info to come)

September 29, 2007 - South Fork

October 6, 2007- Red Canyon - Panguitch Utah - This will be a weekend ride. Beautiful ride in Southern Utah. More Info to come.

UABHA - trophy for YOUTH AWARD - there will be a new perpetual trophy for the youth ward including only performance classes and championships. NO versatility classes included at this point (17 and under classes.)
