SSHOW Meeting Minutes 4-19-04

The meeting was called to order at 7:20 pm. Mike Morgan welcomed everyone.

The first order of business was the election of the officers for 2004. According to the By-Laws of the Spotted Saddle Horse Club, the sitting Board of Directors elects the new officers for the new year. Tom Pearce opened the elections. Nance Walker, who was excused for this meeting, gave her proxy vote to Janae Christiansen via a letter and Marilyn Sizemore, who was also excused, gave her proxy vote to Keith Sizemore via cellphone.

President - two people were nominated for President for the 2004 year, Nance Walker and Ron Kunz. Tom called for a vote and Ron Kunz was elected the SSHOW President for 2004.

Vice President - Mike Morgan was nominated for the office of Vice President. No other people were nominated so thru acclimation, Mike Morgan is the new Vice President for 2004.

Treasurer - Janae Christiansen was nominated for the office of Treasurer. No other people were nominated so thru acclimation, Janae Christiansen remains the Treasurer for 2004.

Secretary - Nance Walker was nominated for the office of Secretary. No other people were nominated so thru acclimation, Nance is the new Secretary for 2004.

Shows and Awards - Becca Pennington and Leslie Topham

Newsletter Editor - Janae Christiensen

Photographer - Wendy Morgan

Trail Rides - Keith Sizemore

Ways and Means -

Secretaries Report - One correction was made the last months Meeting Minutes. It was noted that Janae would send out applications to join the All Breeds Association in the SSHOW Newsletter . An application for the All Breeds Association is in the Spring Fling Show schedule and also can be picked up at the South Jordan Equestrian Center. The Minutes were approved with this correction.

Treasurer’s Report - $100.00 was paid to Vicki May for the Web page monthly maintenance fee to the ISP and $63.95 was paid to Janae Christiansen for mailings to SSHOW members for the newsletters and new membership packages. The treasury now has $1000.00 in funds.

Becca mentioned that Happy Trails will not be giving SSHOW club members a 10% discount because their prices are already lower than other stores in the area. Happy Trails will donate merchandize for our silent auction to be held at the next annual meeting. Janae will make up new SSHOW membership cards which will list the 10% to Saddle Up on the back and mail to everyone.

The Spring Fling Show schedule book is incorrect on the shows listed for Spotted Saddle Horses. The overall schedule in the front of the book is correct, but on the breakout of the sessions, a page was repeated so that the schedule has the same shows listed for two days. Check the overall schedule for the correct classes and class numbers.

The attending members of this meeting would like to thank the mortgage company located in the Prudential Office for the excellent cookies and coffee they provided for our meeting. The Secretary apologizes for not noting the name of the mortgage company.

No new members this month.

No new business this month.

The next meeting will be on May 17th which is after the Spring Fling. Janae will bring treats. All members of the club are invited to these meetings which are held the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Prudential Office.
