Treasurer’s Report - $676.00 to date. Janae also requested that next year
at our Annual Awards Banquet, we hold a silent auction.
The first order of business was the election of new Board Members. Per
our club’s ByLaws, membership dues need to be paid by the 2nd of
February. Everyone who is a paid member can vote. Ron Kunz presided over
the elections for new Board Members. Per SSHOW’s bylaws, there are seven
members of the Boards of Directors. Also per our bylaws, the Board of
Directors is elected by the general membership, and the Board of Directors
elects the Officers. Three members of the Board of Directors will be
elected on even years, four will be up for election on odd years. For
2004, three board members slots are open for election by the general
membership. The three current members were Wendy Morgan, Tom Pearce and
Janae Christianson. Ron opened nominations for the three open Board
Member slots.
Val Christianson nominated Wendy Morgan
Nance Walker nominated Becca Pennington
RayLynn nominated Tom Pearce
Pam Jensen nominated Marilyn Sizemore
Wendy Morgan nominated Janae Christianson
Val motioned for nominations to cease and was seconded by Janae.
Ballots were handed out to all active club members. The results of the

New Business:
The Horse Expo for 2004 will be held on March 13, 14 and 15. SSHEBA has
again paid for our fees . This is the third year that SSHEBA has
sponsored our club at the Horse Expo. We are looking for volunteers to
man the booth on the above dates.
Also, Nance Walker said the Utah All Breeds association needs input before
the end of February for any changes to the shows for this year. One
suggestion is to split out the English and Western Spotted Saddle Horses
classes. Also, Nance wanted to know if SSHOW wants to sponsor a second
High Point Trophy.
The next meeting with be held at 7:00 pm on the 16th of February at the
Prudential Real Estate Office.
Val Christianson motioned that a certificate be made for the outgoing
Board Members for a job well done. Pam Jensen seconded.
Dennis Pennington asked a question regarding the current DQP fees. He
said that most people in shows in others States only entered one or two
shows whereas we enter sometimes 10 or 12 shows. He suggested a flat
fee. He also wondered why the TWEBA club is paying a fee plus the DQP
fees. Mike Morgan said he planned to find out about the extra TWEBA
fee. Val Christianson wondered if we could challenge the ruling for
having a DQP, but Nance Walker said no, it is a requirement of all
sanctioned shows.
Meeting adjourned at 8:10 pm.
