SSHOW Meeting Minutes 5-12-03

Two corrections to the Minutes for the April meeting:

The Trail Pleasure Class is not part of SSHEBEA.  Nance will make sure the Trail Pleasure classes are kept in the shows.   Nance will also give Lois Nelson and Kathy Dorius a list of the SSHEBEA rules to give to the show judges since the rules are not the same as for Tennessee Walkers and the judge should not judge Spotted Saddle Horses in the same manner as TWH horses.

It was reported in the last Minutes that Jody was voted in as an Honorary Member, this is not exactly true, she is honorary, but Nance paid her dues.

Janea motioned to sell the T-shirts for $15.00, the motion was  seconded and approved.

New Business:
In regard to Nance giving the SSHEBEA rules to Lois and Kathy to give to the show judge, Wendy mentioned the TWH club sends a set of rules to the judge and that we should too.

Show and Award Committee:
Michelle will get the stats for the Spring Fling show on Saturday night after the show.  The standings will be posted on our web page.  (They are there now if anyone wishes to take a peek.)

Janea suggested that in order to spur more interest in the Trail Pleasure class, an Amatuer High Point Award should be given for the class.

The FOSH show is on June 14th.  There will be a Gaited Shooting Show (shooting from the back of a horse).

Dalene suggested adding a Side Saddle western or English class to one of the shows.

Nance mentioned that she is concerned that we have not heard from  SSHEBA yet and we are not in the SSH listing.  She will look into why we are not in the SSH listing and why our club has not been sanctioned as yet.

The Spring Fling is on May 15th, 16th, and 17th.   Nance will bring the SSHOW banner and hang it in the barn.  Mike will bring a table to display our T-shirts, etc.

The Morgan Horse Club called Nance regarding the proposed combo show.  It was decided that Tom Pearce and Mike Morgan will handle all details regarding SSHOW-Morgan horse show in August.

Elections:
It will be decided whether to amend the by-laws regarding the length of duties as officers.  A 2/3s majority vote will be required.   We will need to send out a proxy vote.
